Eau Claire- Pre vagrant party and pimps!
So my first two days in Eau Claire went quite well, I went with Steve to "Zombie house" which is a house with several people from the anime club living in it. I introduced myself to and conversed with the denizens of the house and listened to Steve's band practice. I was invited to go to a Good Year Pimps show, I wasn't sure if I would have the money to go and also buy groceries for the week so I flipped a coin and it came up heads, so I went.
We actually left quite late and I met more people including the people who's house I would be staying in, Chad and Kevin. I got along with everyone really well, they seemed to be similar to me in the sense that they liked alot of geeky stuff but also enjoyed being quite social which is somewhat rare.
It was a 5 dollar charge to get in the bar, we went in and watched the band before the pimps, we had missed a couple of bands already but I wasn't worried about it. The band playing had catchy music but put on a fairly mediocre show, I was hoping the pimps wouldn't disappoint. I was not disappointed, the pimps put on a fantastic show. While rocking out I had a few unpleasant/amusing experiences; these two fat chicks wearing what appeared to be bad prom dresses tried to grind me, and a 40 or so year old woman who the pimps had nicknamed "Leinencougar" because she was wearing a leine shirt and flirting with the young men in the audience attempted to make out with me. But all and all it was pretty fantastic.
We then went back to Chad and Kevin's and talked about Chad's awesome movie collection and drank more until I decided it was time to pass out.
The next morning I woke up and found that they had G4, which is fantastic, and proceeded to watch ninja warrior. We then watched some weird movies and went grocery shopping where I bought enough food to last me the week so I wouldn't mooch.
I'll update again in a couple of days depending on what goes on.

where is Ryan
So, first things first... I'm alive and well, I'm no more crazy than usual, and my mind is made up. Now that I got that out of the way I suppose I should give an explanation to those who are going to wonder where I am and what I'm going to be doing.
Well, I am getting rid of all of my material possessions other than a few pairs of clothes, my backpack, a towel, my camel back, and various other survival or hygiene related things. I am intentionally becoming a vagrant. Now, I would find it hard to believe that those who know me well didn't somewhat expect this. I've talked about it for ages, but was always so caught up in the comforts of my placid, yet boring lifestyle that I never actually went about it. As far as what I hope to accomplish? Well, that I'm still not entirely sure of... I don't have any sort of set goal other than I'd like to see the ocean and I want to meet new people and have a bunch of interesting experiences.
That being said, I haven't yet started on my journey yet... I intended on leaving Saturday 4-24-10, however, my friend Steve invited me to go along to Eu Claire with him to meet his friends and to go to an anime convention. And upon assessing the weather Saturday I decided I would go on this trip and have a good time before I left. So I am staying up here in Eu Claire until the 1st then starting my journey. I will be keeping this blog and be checking my facebook and this blog on a semi-frequent basis to check in with people who care about my well being and/or are interested in reading about my adventures.
Now, as far as my stuff goes... I don't want it. I leave everything I own to my brother Chris, anything he doesn't want he is free to give to whomever he pleases.
Whether you think it is a good idea or not, it is something I've resolved to do. I wasn't happy living a normal life working or going to school, I never have been and those close to me know that. So I would appreciate your support, and if you don't support me maybe you will at least find it interesting to follow me.
