No Brand Con

A couple of nights prior to nobrandcon I was a roadie, but not just any roadie... a PRO roadie. And what that means is I was payed to be a roadie, and payed the way roadies are meant to be payed... in free drinks!! It was a pretty good open mic night, Kevin played drums while Steve played his combination guitar/bass tuned to D to play power chords and his DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) pad that was programmed to control his synth and drum machine. Alot of the other acts were similar and somewhat boring but there was an act at the end of the night that played electronica on a mix board with something called a chaos pad, it was pretty badass.

Chad and I watched some interesting movies over the course of the week leading up to nobrandcon. With titles such as attack of the killer tomatoes, revenge of the killer tomatoes, and death race 2000 it was a cheesy blast from the past. After a very pleasant week it was time for the con.

I signed up to volunteer for the con so I would get in for free and get free food, which was a great success. I didn't, however, really think about the schedule I signed up to work... I just signed up for random open spots. For future referance, this is a bad idea! Now, my plan was to try and get some sleep over the course of the con and to not drink so much... guess how that worked out? To say the least the con kicked my ass.

I got make alot of new friends, reunite with alot of old friends, and have a great time overall... but most of this was done while putting horrible strain on my body. I had scheduled myself to work at odd times like 2 a.m. 4 p.m. and times that just generally conflicted with me ever sleeping if I wanted to do fun stuff and hang out with cool people.

My friends Shaun and Brice had a party in their room as usual and Shaun brought a mix board and some awesome dance music to listen to while I got extremely trashed.

Wow, I don't really have much memory after that point other than randomly joining the rockband tourney and hanging out with 2 adorable girls named Lee and Laura and playing a game called dominion. Well, at least I got an hour and a half of sleep over the course of those 3 days... hahaha.
