Wanderlost

So, normally what I talk about in my blogs is strictly my experiences exactly as they happened. However, I think I'm going to deviate from that a little today and talk about how I am currently feeling, then get on with what happened.

It's strange, I've been in Ames nearly 4 days now and I'm not likely to leave until midday tomorrow. Honestly, I think I'm getting a little too comfortable. All of the bad habits and bad tenancies that have built up over the years are starting to reoccur. I'm being lazy, I'm taking things for granted, and I'm not making any progress because I am procrastinating. I could make all the excuses in the world about how it's just been cold out and I wanted to stay warm inside, but really, a week ago that wouldn't have stopped me. I am eating expensive fattening food, taking advantage of the abundance of hospitality in Ames, playing video games and watching TV, and drinking. I just wanted to make it clear that I was aware of this and hope to fix it now that I am aware of it. Now on with the story.

The morning after my last entry I stayed for a bit longer with Rebecca, I watched TV while Rebecca went to a garage sale, I was basically dog sitting Henry. After that was done with and my laundry was done Rebecca gave me a lift to the residence of my next hosts, Josh and Emily. They welcomed me in and we introduced each other while watching a bit of Iron Man. We later went for a walk and they showed me around campus town. And we scavenged some stuff left over from garage sales and met some cool new people. We hung around the house for a bit and then Josh offered me a bottle of amaretto and invited me to a party, I knew it was gonna be a good night!

Later we headed off to a random house, I'm not really sure where it was or who's it was, the only thing I got out of anything was that twins probably lived there and I was armed with 2 liters of amaretto and coke! I met some awesome people and got quite tipsy! But best of all, I met 2 guys named Ben and Mark who seemed cool who offered me their couch for a couple days since I hadn't gotten a hold of my friend from Omaha yet! So I agreed and continued having a grand time.

The next day, Emily and Josh dropped me off at Ben and Mark's place and I literally played X-box live for about 6 hours. We then went to eat pizza with some girls in a giant yellow toaster! (It's a vehicle of some sort, but looks like a yellow toaster) Actually, from this point on it's mostly me finally getting ahold of Newburn so I have someplace to stay in Omaha and playing more X-box 360. Kind of depressing really, but there shall be more adventure soon I promise!

Thanks, and keep reading!
